Narrative Description

The gypsum mining belong to Sahachart Sethakit Co., Ltd. is located at Ban Muang Rae, Nong Klab Subdistrict, Nong Bua District, Nakornsawan Province, about 20 kms northeast of Amphoe Nong Bua.  The Project area under consideration for a mining concession is about 268 rais and adjacent to other mining plots.
Regarding to the project operation, the gypsum production rate is about 10,000-15,000 tons per month. The top-soil will be open-cut using a tractor shovel together with truck hauling the spoils.  The bed rocks are then blasted out, and the gypsum rocks ores are open-cut with a tractor shovel and/or a backhoe.  Finally, the gypsum ores are transported and crushed at the crusher-plant, respectively.
The adverse impacts of the projects are related to the followings:
•The open-cut excavation to exploit the gypsum-natural mineral resources causes a change and disturbance to geological and hydrological structures.
•Air pollution is resulted from dust dispersion due to rock blasting and gypsum crushing.
•The gypsum ore can increase hardness of surface water.
The following mitigation measures and the monitoring programs are suggested.
•The mining operation must be in accordance with the mining process and regulations of the Department of Minerals, the Ministry of Industry.
•Polluted water must be diverted from the mine pit to the holdip.
•To reduce of dust dispersion, plantation of trees as a greenbelt or wind break should be accomplished. In addition, the crusher should be moved to operate within the mine pit.
•Safety facilities and equipment must be provided to the employees

Services Description

SEATEC services is to conduct EIA report and present to OEPP for approval. The Environmental Impact Assessment Study of this Project including of: 
•Study of Project detailed.
•Study current Environmental cover the project area.
•Analyze and Evaluate Impact Assessment of the project and provide the Mitigation Measuring and Monitoring Program.
