Environmental Quality Monitoring During Construction of Phuket International Airport Extension Project Phase 1

Narrative Description

      From the study results of the working group on the possibility of Phuket to be an aviation hub of regional airports found that Phuket in southern region has a lot of potential to be popular with tourists traveling. AOT therefore has designated strategies to promote Phuket International Airport to become the main gateway to the south by development planning of Phuket International Airport dividing into phases with Phase 1 including foundation & utilities improvement such as expansion of Passenger Terminal, improved expansion of aircraft parking bays, improved expansion of warehouse and extending of the eastern runway making it to have the length of 3,300 m. The study on impact by on the private land use in the surrounding area due to expansion in aviation, since the expansion of flight path safety zone  and reducing environmental impact will include measures to monitor environmental quality including air quality, water quality, noise level, economic and social conditions and Public Health.

Services Description

Consultancy Services for Environmental Quality Monitoring including:
•Study of present data of the Project
•Study of the Phuket Airport Improvement Plan along with Work Plan and Environmental Impact caused by the Working Methods in the Project Area
•Study and assess the impact the project will have on the environmental resources by the following considerations:
- The short-term impact or temporary impact during construction - Long term impact during operation
-  Impact or the use of resources that   cannot be restored to its original condition.
