Environmental Impact Assessment of Phuket Airport Development

Narrative Description

The Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited has planned to develop the Phuket Airport. The plan aims to increase the passenger receiving efficiency and aeronautical traffic, as divided into 2 phases as follows:
•Phase 1: Comprises of Passenger Terminal expansion, Southern aprons expansion, Cargo Terminal expansion, and 300 m. runway expansion toward the east, the total runway length would be 3,300 meters.
•Phase 2: Comprises of New International Terminal construction, car park expansion, aprons expansion, and runway length expansion to the total length of 3,700 meters with 2 alternatives: (1) expansion of the existing runway, (2) construction of new runway.

Services Description

The services included the following works:
•Prepare the Environmental Impact Assessment Report of Project Development: Phase I.
•Compare and consider the environmental impacts of the Project Development: Phase II, in both alternatives.
•Prepare the Environmental Impact Assessment Report of Project Development: Phase II.
•Present and explain the results to the Expert Review Committee, Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning.
•Present and explain to the National Environmental Board.
