Initial Environmental Examination of 4 Medium Scale Reservoirs (Doi Ngu, Huai Mae Rampan, Mae On 2 and Huai Suang)

Narrative Description

The Initial Environmental Examination of 4 medium scale reservoirs is required to develop water resources for irrigation and human use and to prevent water shortage during dry season and floods during rainy season. The description of the project:
1.Doi Ngu Reservoir, Chiangrai Province : reservoir area of 174 km2  with a capacity of 7.36 million m3 and annual average water intake 44.5 million m3 to irrigate 20,000 rai of land in rainy season and 13,000 rai of land in dry season.
2.Mae On 2 Reservoir, Lampang Province: reservoir area of 64.0 km2 with a capacity of 19.1 million m3 and annual average water intake of 17.34 million m3 to irrigate a 10,000 rai of land in rainy season and 2,000 rai of land in dry season.
3.Huai Suang Reservoir, Sukhothai Province: reservoir area of 47 km2 with a capacity of 8 million m3 and annual average water intake of 9.48 million m3 to irrigate 4,500 rai of land in rainy season and 900 rai of land in dry season.
4.Huay Mae Rampan Reservoir, Sukhothai Province: reservoir area of 70 km2 with a capacity of 11.4 million m3 and annual average water intake of 11.57 million m3 to irrigate 4,800 rai of land in rainy season and 480 rai of land in dry season.

 

 

Services Description

The scope of services are as followings:
•The preparation of reports on Initial Environmental Examination for Doi Ngu Reservoir and Mae On 2 Reservoir project. The study includes the analysis of all aspects of existing environmental resources in conformity with the Office of Environmental and Planning’s regulations as well as the recommendations on mitigation measures and monitoring programs.
