Nam Ngum 3 Hydropower Project is located in the middle reach of the Nam Ngum River in Xaisomboun Special Region of Lao PDR, at a distance of approximately 265 km. by north of Vientiane. Project components consist of a 200 m. height Roller Compacted Concrete Dam (RCC Dam) with 637 m. length obstruct Nam Ngum River. The spillway is Radial Gated Spillway type consist of 4 gates with 15 m. height and 10 m. width. The project plan to construct 2 sets of 220 MW electrical generating station by using Francis Turbine Generator with diversion tunnels and appurtenance equipments/structures.
